Little Ghost Town

Little Ghost Town

Little Ghost Town is a Folk trio from the wild West Coast of Auckland. The band is made up of vocalists Mandy Patmore and Hannah Neville, who specialize in amazing harmony singing, and Ed Taylor who plays guitar, harmonica and foot percussion (all at the same time ).

Ed is an award winning composer and guitar player who has played in classical, jazz, pop and folk groups throughout Auckland over the past two decades. He completed a degree in Classical Guitar performance in 2000 before studying jazz privately.

Mandy is an experienced singer who has played with numerous groups. She is also a highly decorated artist and teacher who runs an art program for youth at the Corbans Art Centre in West Auckland.

Hannah is new to the band world but has a background in acting and musical theatre which she studied at Wellington University. She recently completed a PHD in education. Ed and Hannah live in Piha, and Mandy has a house in Karekare.

The group formed after a chance meeting at a market in the small town of Piha between Ed and Mandy. "I had read about Mandy and her art in a 'House and Garden' magazine, and my wife and I bumped into her at a market selling prints. We actually bought a few and then we started to talk about music and she told me that she was a singer..". They then started performing as a duo and played in Auckland and the Bay Of Plenty. Ed then heard Hannah singing at the local coffee spot where she was working and invited her to join. " The combination of their voices is an amazing thing. Hannah has a husky low voice and Mandy has a pure high voice. It is a magical combination" (Ed).

The band’s first performances were at the 2024 Bay of Islands Music Festival where they played five very successful shows over a weekend.

The band’s first single 'Ghost Town' was released in September of 2024 and is a song about the state of rural New Zealand and the effects of globalisation on small communities written by Ed Taylor.
