Charlotte Yates and Showpony
Charlotte Yates has recorded six albums of her own, studied contemporary music technology and composition in Australia, produced two Melbourne Fringe Arts Festivals, been artist in residence in Christchurch (2002) and was a finalist for the APRA Silver Scroll Award with her iconic song ‘Red Letter’, and recently studied songwriting at Berklee College of Music, USA. She is working with Gil Eva Craig on a new single for release this year and her seventh album in 2017.
Show Pony (Emily Clemett) now based in Wellington is a music teacher and musician who has worked both in UK and NZ. Growing up with music, it remains a passion. Sharing her enthusiasm and joy of music and meeting countless incredible and diverse musicians around the globe is a constant inspiration along her musical journey.
Exploring and learning different genres and styles of music is important to Show Pony who has been lucky enough to play Ska, Reggae, Folk, Latin American, Celtic folk, Afro Beat, Metal, Jazz, Bluegrass, Punk rock, Cumbia, Klezmer, Gypsy, Balkan, Old time and Classical – playing trumpet, violin, guitar and ukulele.
Show Pony believes that music is an international language for everyone.
